Stop the fear and only believe

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s [house certain] which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. Mark 5:35-36 KJV

And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:22 -23 KJV

Never allow your emotions to run your life. What emotions am I talking about? Fear, anxiety, frustrations, anger, feelings of hopelessness and the rest of such emotions, never let them control your life. God in the scriptures above have given us what to do when emotions try to run your life.

To the ruler of the synagogue who was told that his daughter has died, Jesus Christ simply said don’t be afraid, only believe. And when he believed, he received her daughter back to life. And to the father of the demon possessed boy whom the demon wanted to kill, Jesus said, all things are possible to him that believes. When the father believed, his son was delivered from his suffering.

What is it that we believe? We believe in Jesus and his ability to do what he said he has done or will do, that is what settle everything. Jesus told his disciples just before he was crucified in John 14:1, do not let your hearts be troubled, you believe in God believe also in me. So, whatever situation you might be going through don’t allow your emotions run your life. Stop the fear and just believe, Jesus has got your back.
