You have eternal life

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:11-13 KJV

When you got born again you received eternal life ( everlasting life, the God-kind of life). What really happened is that the life of God completely supplants or swallows the human life with which you were born by your earthly parents. That is why the bible now calls you a new creation in Christ Jesus ( 2cor5:17).

What a born again child of God needs to understand is that eternal life is not a promise in the sweet by and by, but a present hour reality. The writer in the above scripture, says that he has written to us who believe on the name of the son of God; that we may know that we have eternal life. Please understand that eternal life is the God-kind of life; it is the life that God alone possessed until Jesus came and made it available to us.

We have to understand that we have received a life of dominion, a life that makes us superior to Satan and his kingdom. This life is not subject to sickness, disease, infirmities or the economies of this world. We are living in the victory of Christ, that is why the bible call us more than conquerors ( Rom 8:37).

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24 KJV
